Richard Bezemer - principal
After completing his MBA, Richard began his career in the world of international sporting events as a Director of Operations for the 1994 FIFA World Cup, after which he joined the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games as Director of Integrated Operations for Venue Management.
It was these early work experiences that led Richard to focus on developing methods to improve the efficiency and quality of planning and operations for major event organizations. Richard was a founding partner of the Broadstone Group, a consultancy that introduced and launched the Games-wide planning process adopted by Sydney 2000 organizers as the blueprint for their planning.
As a principal of Contemporary International, Richard concentrates his efforts on ensuring that CI maintains its leadership by providing high-value, innovative services that address the needs of the constantly evolving event industry.
Mike Loynd - principal
Mike has worked in the event industry since 1978. Working mainly in the US from 1978 to 1992, he was involved in thousands of events. In 1992 he turned his attention to the international event industry, which led to the formation of Contemporary International. In this time he has been involved in many of the world's premier events and has made substantial contributions to the theory behind modern super event planning.
Recently, Mike has focused his efforts on learning and performance for fast-growing, dynamic companies. As the Managing Partner of Worldlearn, Mike manages one of the most innovative service and solution providers in the learning and performance sector.
Stephen V. Mirabile - principal and chief operating officer
Stephen is an 18 year veteran of the global event industry having unmatched experience spanning the largest public events of the last two decades.
His impressive portfolio has included senior management roles on five previous Olympic and Paralympic Games and as an Expert Advisor to the International Olympic Committee for Event Operations.
In addition to several Olympic Games, Stephen has also led teams in some of the largest and most complex events in the world, including 1994 FIFA World Cup, 2003 Special Olympics World Games, multiple NFL Super Bowls, the 2005 Visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
As Chief Operating Officer, Stephen plays a crucial role in client services, corporate strategy, business development and the management of CI's offices throughout the world.
Stephen is widely recognized for his ability to build and manage teams of executive professionals toward a common goal. Damon Zumwalt - president and ceo
Forty years ago, Damon founded Contemporary Services Corporation and pioneered it into the leading event security services company in the world. His peer group approach to security and crowd management became the most effective and reliable means of providing professional crowd management services and security for the sports and entertainment industry.
The growth of CSC's services to more than 6,000 events annually led to the creation of complementary event companies, namely, APEX for executive protection, ProtaTECH for event workforce technology and ultimately Contemporary International for highly-skilled, event management professionals who apply their expertise and experience to bring success to major event projects all over the world.
